Overview

Trichy Metals and Alloys is spread across 8 acres of land in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India. With state-of-the-art machinery, this factory has a capacity to process up to 22,000 metric tonnes of lead per year.

Equipped with two rotary furnaces, four refining kettles with capacities of 10,20, 20 & 40 metric tonnes and an automatic casting machine that outputs 10 metric tonnes per hour of dross-free and smooth top pure lead ingots, TMA has the capability to manufacture pure lead and a range of lead alloys to stringent user/industry determined specifications. TMA's pure lead ingots have a maximum purity level of 99.99%. TMA also has the capacity to produce a range of lead alloys as per our customer requirements – lead alloys of Calcium, Antimony, Tin, Silver and to name a few. TMA's pure lead and range of lead alloys have found a ready market across India in the manufacture of pipes, plates, bullets, automotive and tubular grids and solder alloy.

Material Handling

Strong internal guidelines ensures, minimal or no environmental impact caused by the company. TMA follows stringent material handling and pollution control techniques, facilitated by a strong facility design abiding by the pollution control norms as listed by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and the provincial pollution control board TNPCB under the governance of Ministry of Environment & Forest (MoEF). Some of the highlights of 'material handling system' include the following:

  • Scrap Storage Facility in a controlled environment
  • Sound Effluent Management
  • Waste Disposal Management
  • Recycling of (internally) reusable scrap

Quality

TMA has the distinction for being the very first company to install an Optical Emission Spectrometer (OES) – the latest in lead metal testing technology – way back in 1996. The company follows a structured quality policy in all the four stages of the manufacturing process:
